About the position

The Hospital Practice Specialist - I at SCP Health is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Hospital Medicine or Critical Care practices at assigned facilities. This role focuses on ensuring efficient provider workflows, enhancing client and patient satisfaction, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders in the healthcare system. The specialist will support billing, coding, compliance, and quality requirements while also managing operational tasks and collaborating with field operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily tasks to ensure efficient provider workflows in patient care.
  • Support collaboration with clients, clinicians, PCPs, and field operations teams.
  • Assist with billing, coding, compliance, and quality requirements for the facility.
  • Support quality audits, coding, and billing compliance with ICD10/CPT standards.
  • Be available by phone or pager for schedule emergencies and patient complaints.
  • Enhance satisfaction for clients, PCPs, patients, and providers.
  • Facilitate communication between the practice and community PCPs/Consulting Specialists.
  • Fax H&P/Discharge Summaries to local PCPs daily.
  • Complete weekly tracking forms for the HM/CC Program.
  • Coordinate with field operations to provide feedback to SCP Health and hospital leadership.
  • Observe on-site productivity and make recommendations for optimization.
  • Collaborate with Staffing Operations and attend related meetings.
  • Support the Medical Director with meeting preparation and data collection.
  • Manage daily operations and recommend improvements based on KPIs and satisfaction metrics.
  • Complete daily BPCI-A program tasks within MySCP Care App, if applicable.
  • Facilitate signature and documentation processes for clinical paperwork.
  • Collect and distribute daily mail from the facility mailroom to providers.
  • Establish standing meetings between hospital administration and SCP Health teams.
  • Act as a liaison between SCP Health and hospital personnel in interdisciplinary processes.
  • Reconcile facility census to verify assigned patients daily.
  • Provide daily provider assignments to clinical and administrative teams.
  • Monitor operations regarding physician signatures and credentialing.
  • Support community primary care physician relations and market efforts.
  • Assist with post-discharge follow-up and patient engagement tasks.
  • Help implement and support the Telemedicine program where applicable.
  • Assist with new provider interviews, orientation, and training.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of Practice Management/Healthcare experience or 2-3 years of Office Management experience.
  • Experience in Project Management, Marketing, or hospital-based environments is a plus.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Well-organized with exceptional time management and priority-setting skills.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of management, staff, and physicians.
