About the position
This position involves providing temporary Hospitalist coverage at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in Athens and Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, OH. The role is urgent and requires availability for shifts over the next several months, with a preference for candidates who can commit to a 7 on 7 off schedule. The job entails working both day and night shifts, with a focus on intubation and other critical procedures in an open ICU setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospitalist coverage at OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital and Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.
- Work a 7 on 7 off schedule, with flexibility to cover one week per month at minimum.
- Perform required procedures such as intubations and preferred procedures like central line insertions.
- Respond to codes and manage patient care in an open ICU environment.
- Handle a patient load of 20-25 per team during day shifts and 15 per provider during night shifts.
- Collaborate with APP support and specialty coverages including cardiology and pulmonology.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed physician with hospitalist experience.
- Experience in performing intubations is required; central line insertion is preferred.
- Ability to work both day and night shifts as needed.
- Familiarity with open ICU procedures and patient management.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a non-designated trauma center setting.
- Familiarity with managing a patient load of 20-25 during day shifts.
