About the position

HNI Healthcare and Valley Regional Medical Center are currently seeking Board Eligible/Board Certified Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians for a new program beginning in October 2023. This opportunity is designed for both practicing physicians and residents. The position is based in a licensed 214-bed, Level III trauma facility, offering a 7 on / 7 off schedule. The team will consist of 4 physicians and 1 Nurse Practitioner who will be rounding during the day, with 1 physician responsible for rounding and admitting at night. The facility features a closed ICU with Intensivist coverage, and no procedures are required, allowing physicians to focus on patient care without the added stress of procedural responsibilities. Subspecialty support is readily available, and the facility utilizes Meditech as its Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Candidates must be able to provide a full scope of primary care services and hold a current, unrestricted Texas license to practice, along with current federal and state prescriptive authority. Board certification or eligibility as an MD or DO with advanced graduate medical education and training in Internal Medicine is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients.
  • Participate in a 7 on / 7 off schedule with a team of physicians and nurse practitioners.
  • Rounding during the day and admitting patients at night as required.
  • Collaborate with subspecialty support as needed.
  • Utilize Meditech EMR for patient documentation and management.
  • Engage in real-time, data-driven clinical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Board certified or board eligible MD or DO in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current, unrestricted Texas medical license.
  • Current, unrestricted federal and state prescriptive authority.
  • Advanced graduate medical education and training in Internal Medicine preferred.
  • Ability to provide a full scope of primary care services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Level III trauma facility.
