About the position

The Hospitality Aide at Maverick Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is responsible for providing non-clinical care and services to residents under the supervision of the Charge Nurse. This role involves assisting residents with personal needs, maintaining their comfort, and ensuring a safe and clean environment. The aide will engage with residents, respond to their requests, and support their daily activities while adhering to safety guidelines and promoting positive interactions.

Responsibilities

• Follow resident assignment schedule as directed by the Charge Nurse.
• Assist ambulatory residents or push those in wheelchairs as required.
• Perform grooming tasks such as combing hair and nail care (without clippers).
• Answer call lights promptly and carry out non-direct care requests.
• Provide pre and post meal grooming assistance, including washing hands and face.
• Maintain fresh water at bedside and offer drinks to residents.
• Assist with oral hygiene and denture care.
• Be attentive to residents' needs and report any concerns to the Charge Nurse.
• Knock before entering residents' rooms and request permission to enter.
• Communicate tactfully in sensitive situations.
• Promote positive public relations with residents and their families.
• Observe residents and report any unusual conditions to the Charge Nurse.
• Follow safety guidelines and clean up spills promptly.
• Clean wheelchairs, beds, and nursing equipment as directed.
• Safely utilize equipment and report any needing repair.
• Participate in emergency drills and in-service training as scheduled.
• Follow Universal Safety Precautions to protect self and residents.
• Assist with laundry duties and maintain cleanliness in the facility.
• Bring residents to and from daily activities and assist with building activities.
• Perform clerical functions as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance according to facility policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with residents.
• Ability to complete assignments amidst constant interruptions.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
