About The Position

The Hospitality Aide at Life Care Center of Kona plays a crucial role in supporting the daily activities of residents in a post-acute care facility. This position is primarily focused on non-direct care activities, which are essential for maintaining the comfort and well-being of residents. The Hospitality Aide will be responsible for tasks such as passing ice, making beds, and delivering meal trays to residents who are capable of feeding themselves. All activities must be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to ensure patient safety and to help achieve the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient, in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. In this role, the Hospitality Aide will be expected to make independent decisions when necessary and must possess a solid understanding of the practices and procedures relevant to the post-acute care environment. The aide will implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines. Proficiency in competency areas such as patient rights, safety, and sanitation is essential. The aide will also maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to Life Care's Code of Conduct, completing all mandatory compliance training. The essential functions of the position include passing ice and water, distributing snacks, assisting with meal trays, making beds, organizing residents' personal items, and providing one-on-one attention to cognitively impaired residents. The aide will also be responsible for transporting wheelchair-bound residents, responding promptly to call lights, and demonstrating excellent customer service. Regular attendance, effective communication, and the ability to work productively within an interdisciplinary team are critical components of this role. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs and to perform various physical activities throughout the working hours.
