About the position

The Hospitality Cashier position at Fast N Friendly Stores in Olathe, KS, is a full-time contract role that requires a friendly and efficient individual to manage customer transactions and ensure a pleasant dining experience. The primary responsibility of the cashier is to communicate clearly and politely with co-workers and customers, ensuring that orders are served correctly and promptly. The cashier will greet guests as they enter the restaurant or drive-thru, initiating and completing customer transactions quickly and accurately. Maintaining an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift is essential, as is the ability to assemble and deliver orders to customers efficiently. In addition to handling transactions, the cashier is responsible for keeping the work area clean and sanitary, preparing products according to health and safety standards, and operating food and drink-related equipment safely. The role also involves completing assigned prep work, stocking products, and executing proper rotation of items. The cashier will assist with end-of-day cleaning and work collaboratively with team members to ensure consistent quality, service, cleanliness, and value for each customer. The position requires the cashier to wash counters, tables, and restrooms, gather trash, and perform other cleaning tasks as needed. There may be occasions when the cashier needs to step outside the building for maintenance and cleaning activities. It is crucial for the cashier to inform the immediate supervisor of any significant issues and to perform other duties as requested by management or shift leaders. The role emphasizes accountability, adherence to established standards, and maintaining a positive working relationship with both employees and customers to foster a cooperative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly, quickly, and politely with co-workers to ensure correct orders are served to customers.
• Greet guests as they enter the restaurant or drive-thru.
• Initiate and complete customer transactions quickly and accurately through the drive-thru.
• Process customer transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the shift.
• Assemble and deliver orders to customers quickly and efficiently.
• Keep the entire work area clean and sanitary throughout the shift.
• Prepare products quickly and accurately, following all preparation, health, and safety standards and guidelines when needed.
• Operate and maintain food/drink/treat related equipment and registers properly and safely.
• Complete assigned prep work for stocking and set up of work area.
• Stock and execute proper rotation of products.
• Assist with end-of-day cleaning.
• Work as a team member to assure constant and consistent quality, service, cleanliness, and value to each customer.
• Wash counters, tables, restrooms, and trash receptacles; gather trash and remove it from dining/service areas to proper receptacles; sweep, mop, stock, and perform other cleaning tasks.
• Inform immediate supervisor promptly of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management staff or shift leaders.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
• Experience in a customer service role, preferably in the food service industry.
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and maintaining an accurate cash drawer.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
