About the position

Join a dynamic and innovative culinary establishment led by a renowned Chef-Owner, celebrated for their contributions to the culinary arts and recognized by prestigious organizations. This exciting venture features a dual-concept dining experience, designed to accommodate approximately 200 guests. The venue will showcase two distinct dining experiences across different levels, offering exceptional Korean cuisine to a diverse clientele. The ground floor will focus on a vibrant bar atmosphere with premium cocktails and unique bar bites, while the lower level will provide a comprehensive full-service Korean dining experience featuring seafood and barbecue specialties. We are seeking a skilled General Manager to become an integral part of our enthusiastic team. This pivotal role will involve close collaboration with the Chef & Owner and leadership of our front-of-house team. This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth as we expand our restaurant concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily restaurant operations.
  • Demonstrate exemplary hospitality; inspire and guide our team to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
  • Manage inventory (beverages, glassware, silverware, etc.) and cultivate strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Handle restaurant operations communications.
  • Oversee weekly payroll and cash reconciliation processes.
  • Lead the development and execution of effective front-of-house systems and protocols.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment by adhering to health department regulations and restaurant standards.
  • Participate in weekly leadership meetings.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to devise strategies for managing restaurant financials, including food and beverage and labor costs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume, concept-driven restaurant, particularly one that frequently hosts private events.
  • Prior experience in launching new restaurant concepts, teambuilding, and establishing front-of-house and human resources systems is highly desirable.
  • A strong passion for and understanding of Asian and Korean culinary traditions, beverages, and culture.
  • Exceptional communication and team management abilities.
  • Experience in developing sophisticated beverage programs, including cocktails and wine selections, is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the fast-paced dynamics of restaurant operations.
  • Proficient in standard restaurant management tools (e.g., Toast POS/Payroll, Excel, Quickbooks, Resy, etc.).
