About the position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Hospitality Management at the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong and active high-impact research program, with opportunities for publications in hospitality and tourism management conferences and journals. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in general Hospitality Management, such as Strategic Management, Organizational Behaviors, and Human Resources Management. The faculty member will also supervise graduate students and engage in various service activities within the department, college, and university. Additionally, the candidate will be encouraged to seek both internal and external funding to support their research initiatives. The Harrah College of Hospitality is strategically located near the Las Vegas Strip, providing unparalleled access to the hospitality industry. The college is consistently ranked among the top five hospitality programs globally and offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, a Master of Hospitality Administration, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Hospitality Administration, among other programs. Faculty members are renowned in their fields, and the college emphasizes partnerships with industry leaders to enhance student success through internships and mentorship opportunities. Candidates for this position must possess a Ph.D. in hospitality, tourism, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Previous experience as a solo instructor in higher education is required, along with a demonstrated record of scholarship and publication in relevant fields. While ABD candidates may be considered, they must complete their degree before the start date. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong publication record in top-tier journals, experience in securing research funding, and industry experience with managerial responsibilities. The successful candidate will also be committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusiveness within the academic environment.

Responsibilities
