The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is seeking a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Hospitality Management for the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality. This position is designed for a candidate who will engage in a robust research program with a focus on hospitality and tourism management, aiming for publications in reputable journals and conferences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising graduate students, and participating in various service activities within the department, college, and university. The role requires collaboration with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and the candidate will also be expected to advise student groups and serve on committees while engaging in community outreach. The Harrah College of Hospitality is strategically located near the Las Vegas Strip, providing unparalleled access to the hospitality industry. The college is consistently ranked among the top five hospitality programs globally and offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, various master's programs, and a Ph.D. in Hospitality Administration. Candidates for this position must possess a Ph.D. in hospitality, tourism, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. Previous teaching experience as a solo instructor in higher education is required, along with a demonstrated record of scholarship and publication in relevant fields. While candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) may be considered, they must complete their degree before the start date. Preference will be given to those with a strong publication record in top-tier journals and experience in securing research funding. Additionally, industry experience with managerial responsibilities and a background in teaching strategic management, organizational behaviors, or human resources management will be advantageous.
