About the position

The Hospitality Manager at The Salvation Army KROC Center is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the café, kitchen, event, and AVL departments. This role includes managing finances, stock, health and safety, catering events, and leading a team to create a welcoming environment for customers. The manager will also plan and execute sales programs, manage event bookings, and ensure high-quality service and food offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the café, kitchen, event, and AVL departments.
  • Manage and motivate the team, including hiring, performance management, and training.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided by staff.
  • Establish and monitor budgets to ensure profitability.
  • Represent the RJKCCC at special events and oversee activities.
  • Plan staff scheduling for all functions and assess operational needs.
  • Initiate and maintain quality service efforts to increase catering functions.
  • Supervise event staff and ensure execution of service details for food and beverage events.
  • Maintain quality standards for items used in events and kitchen operations.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between clients and RJKCCC departments.
  • Supervise administrative responsibilities of events, including payroll and client relations.
  • Develop marketing initiatives for events and promotions.
  • Conduct on-site tours of the Kroc Center as required.
  • Research and secure preferred catering vendors for events.
  • Increase food and beverage sales through creative menu presentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of assigned events and ensure timely invoicing.
  • Train café/kitchen staff and oversee food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Manage AVL services for events and internal activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in events management, marketing/sales, or food service management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing professional staff.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and maintain a professional attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.
