Join Our Team as a Maitre D' at Santi! At Santi, we are seeking a dedicated Maitre D' to be the welcoming face of our restaurant. This role is crucial in establishing a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests, ensuring that every dining experience is exceptional. Founded by the acclaimed chef Michael White, Santi is a celebration of seasonal Italian cuisine inspired by his extensive culinary journey through Italy and the South of France. Our menu features a variety of handmade pastas, fresh meats, seafood, and seasonal vegetables, all crafted with care and precision. As a Maitre D', you will play a key role in enhancing the overall guest experience and ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management and the front-of-house team to enhance service operations and elevate the guest experience.
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, including managing guest flow, table assignments, and service timing to ensure efficiency and satisfaction.
  • Welcome guests warmly upon arrival, making them feel valued and appreciated.
  • Manage the reservation system effectively, ensuring optimal table allocation and accommodating guest preferences.
  • Maintain composure and organization during peak service times, facilitating a smooth seating process.
  • Communicate effectively with the floor team to manage guest seating and special requests seamlessly.
  • Assist in managing the waitlist during busy periods, providing accurate wait times and enhancing the guest experience.
  • Train and mentor front-of-house staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, as well as all applicable regulations.
  • Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, ensuring satisfaction and resolution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a fine dining or high-volume restaurant, with a focus on guest-facing roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Willingness to obtain necessary food protection certification.
