About the position
The Host position at Bar Lis, a sophisticated rooftop bar in Hollywood, is focused on ensuring guests have a positive experience from the moment they enter the restaurant. The role requires a friendly and welcoming demeanor, as well as the ability to manage reservations and coordinate seating effectively. The Host plays a critical role in controlling the flow of service and making a lasting impression on guests.
Responsibilities
- Respond to guest inquiries and answer phones.
- Keep an accurate count of reservations and manage the reservation book.
- Collect and store menus.
- Maintain complete knowledge of the floor plan, table numbers, and stations.
- Seat the restaurant fairly, rotating server stations.
- Complete room checks and edit the floor management system accordingly.
- Maintain immediate awareness when tables are reset and ready with accurate guest counts and table settings.
- Guide guests to a set and ready table for service.
Requirements
- 6 months previous restaurant or hotel experience.
- Excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to focus on guest interaction and multitask.
- Team player with the ability to anticipate others' needs.
- Positive attitude.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of seating management systems (preferred but not required).
- Experience with answering phones in a reservations system.
