About the position

The Host position at Encanto involves overseeing communication between the restaurant, management, and guests, ensuring a hospitable environment while managing reservations and guest requests. The role is essential in maintaining the restaurant's high standards of service and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all matters of communication between the restaurant, managers, and guests.
• Manage reservations through OpenTable and handle guest requests.
• Support the service team to ensure guest needs are met in a timely manner.
• Field event and regular voicemails and complete inquiries with guests over the phone.
• Maintain a professional appearance and behavior at all times.
• Assist with service demands in the dining room with graceful efficiency.
• Handle lost items, lost credit cards, and complaints using spreadsheets.
• Make calls for the following day's reservations, noting requests and confirmations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a service-oriented or administrative position within a customer-facing environment (ideally fine dining).
• Experience with Resy or OpenTable is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate, or college degree.
• Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Experience in a fine dining environment.
• Ability to remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment.
