Cambridge Network is actively seeking prospective host families in the Shawnee Mission area who are interested in hosting international students. This role is designed for families who are warm, patient, and willing to share their home with a student embarking on a study abroad journey. The ideal host family will be able to communicate in English within the household and must reside within a 30-minute driving distance from Bishop Miege High School. It is essential that the host family has the time and willingness to engage with the student throughout their stay, providing support and guidance as they adapt to a new environment. As a host family, you will be responsible for ensuring that the student receives three nutritious meals each day, has access to a private bedroom, and is provided with transportation to and from school. Cambridge Network offers dedicated support staff to assist host families, along with comprehensive training to prepare for the hosting experience. Additionally, 24/7 emergency support is available to ensure a smooth and safe experience for both the host family and the student. In return for your commitment, host families will receive a monthly stipend of $900. For those who may have concerns about hosting due to COVID-19, Cambridge Network has implemented a completely virtual application process to facilitate the onboarding of new host families. Furthermore, if you refer someone who becomes matched with a student, you will be eligible for a $500 referral bonus.
