About The Position

The Host/Hostess at Bad Daddy's Burger Bar is responsible for greeting and seating guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves various tasks within the restaurant, including managing reservations, maintaining dining areas, and assisting with food and beverage service. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Store Manager.

Requirements

• Customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Ability to read and interpret the restaurant's seating chart.
• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner.
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
• Requires the ability to speak, read, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a smile and appropriate greeting according to HMSHost customer service standards.
• Record customer reservations or seating times consistently to provide high-quality service.
• Maintain and update restaurant seating charts.
• Set up and maintain the dining room areas before serving.
• Assist in maintaining sufficient stock of roll-up silverware for the incoming shift.
• Seat guests and advise them on menu and beverage choices based on in-depth knowledge.
• Oversee the delivery and servicing of food and beverages.
• Liaise between kitchen staff and floor staff to ensure guest experience meets company standards.
• Perform cashier and bus person tasks as required, including cashing out guests' checks.
• Follow HMSHost cash handling policies and maintain proper security of cash.
• Patrol assigned station, refill water and coffee, and remove service items as per procedures.
• Perform other duties during downtime, such as rolling silverware, expediting food orders, and cleaning.
