About the position

The Host/Hostess at Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen is responsible for welcoming guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave. This part-time position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to handle guest requests efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• Open the front door for guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible.
• Record guest names and number of people in party when immediate seating is limited.
• Contact guests when tables become available.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
• Seat guests based on preferences and balancing customer flow in service stations.
• Offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name upon seating.
• Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness.
• Relay messages to servers and bus persons as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
• Clear and effective communication in the predominant language(s) of guests.
• Exceptional grooming habits.
• Current TABC certification.
