About the position

The Host/Hostess at The Kings Inn is responsible for providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests, managing seating arrangements, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This part-time role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to high sanitation standards. The position involves working early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and requires dependability and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Greets, seats, and presents menus to guests, informing them of specials.
• Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.
• Strives to exceed guests' expectations.
• Takes names on a waiting list and assists guests with check-in.
• Runs the floor plan board and observes tables to keep track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables.
• Takes guest information and quotes wait times accurately when tables are not immediately available.
• Sanitizes, organizes, and stocks menus at the host area.
• Answers phone and responds to questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
• Interacts with guests as they arrive and leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Fills to-go orders, if applicable.
• Assists staff when needed and cleans walkways and common areas.
• Completes all tasks assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Experience in restaurant or hospitality environment preferred.
• Strong communication skills and customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress effectively.
• Dependable and punctual with excellent time-keeping skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with POS systems.
• Ability to carry high chairs and assist with physical tasks.
