About the position

The Host Person at Encore Boston Harbor is responsible for managing the reservation book and ensuring a smooth flow of service in the restaurant. This role involves greeting guests, accommodating their needs, and acting as an ambassador for the restaurant and resort. The Host will provide detailed information about food and beverage selections, event spaces, and special arrangements, while maintaining high standards of guest service and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and arrange seating according to established procedures.
• Monitor room atmosphere and quote accurate waiting times.
• Assist guests with reservations via phone and in person.
• Oversee quality check and rotation of menus.
• Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure quality service.
• Participate in departmental goals and objectives, monitoring operational effectiveness.
• Maintain all Encore Standards and ensure excellent guest and team member experience.
• Assist with special projects as assigned by restaurant management.
• Follow safety standards and enforce internal policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of hosting experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy manuals and maintenance instructions.
• Conversational English required; second language is a plus.
