About the position
Beachhouse Bar and Grill is a vibrant waterfront bar and restaurant located on Lake Washington Boulevard, adjacent to Houghton Beach in Kirkland. We are seeking an energetic and outgoing individual to join our team as a Host/Hostess. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with guests and thrives in a lively atmosphere. The role offers flexible working hours and opportunities for growth within the restaurant industry. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for creating a welcoming environment and ensuring a smooth dining experience. Your responsibilities will include greeting guests with a friendly demeanor, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the host area, and effectively communicating with both guests and team members. You will also provide support to front-of-house staff, manage reservations, and handle phone inquiries. This position requires a commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and engaging with guests with a friendly demeanor
- Maintaining organization, cleanliness, and sanitation in host area, restrooms, lobby, and service stations
- Effectively communicating with guests and fellow team members
- Providing support and assistance to FOH staff such as bartenders, servers, and bussers
- Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and assisting guests over the phone
- Taking to-go orders via phone and delivery service tablets
- Proficiently using POS system to enter orders, take payments, etc.
- Restocking takeout supplies such as boxes, cups, and bags
- Balancing table seating and rotation between server sections
- Cleaning and sanitizing tables
- Thanking guests upon departure
Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Host/hostess experience
- Food service experience
- Organizational skills
- Phone etiquette
- Restaurant experience (1 year preferred)
- Food Worker Permit (preferred)
