About the position

The Host position at Maggiano's Little Italy involves greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of the restaurant and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a friendly manner.
• Manage reservation calls and record necessary information.
• Confirm reservations according to standard operating procedures.
• Ensure the dining room is filled evenly and orderly.
• Maintain an accurate head count of guests seated in each station.
• Fill out telephone message pads and pass on messages promptly.
• Check washrooms and coordinate cleaning with bus staff.
• Keep the host desk and waiting area clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Sell and accurately account for gift certificate sales.
• Move tables as needed for larger or smaller parties.
• Communicate effectively with guests and staff.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1-year full-service restaurant experience or equivalent.
• Accurate mathematic skills.
• Knowledge of menu and specials.
• Familiarity with restaurant layout including table and station numbers.
• Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually.
• Warm, sincere, and outgoing personality.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time while on duty.
• Ability to move safely throughout all areas of the restaurant.
• Ability to work amidst noise in confined crowded spaces.
