About the position

The Host position at Boston's Restaurant and Sports Bar involves greeting and seating guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive dining experience. The role requires coordination of the dining room's organization and cleanliness while maintaining high standards of guest service and product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Coordinate the organization and traffic flow of the dining room.
• Assist in training and development of new team members as needed.
• Facilitate To-Go orders via phone or online and ensure timely execution.
• Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately during shifts.
• Follow procedures for reservations, telephone, waiting lists, and take-out orders.
• Maintain a professional image and adhere to uniform standards.
• Monitor responsible selling and service of alcohol according to licensing authorities.
• Report any concerns to the manager immediately.
• Ensure all guests are attended to and served according to company standards.
• Thank every guest sincerely for their patronage.
• Maintain a high level of food and beverage knowledge and ensure menu items are prepared according to standards.
• Stay informed about ongoing and upcoming promotions and assist in their implementation.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of the restaurant in accordance with health department expectations.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of food and beverage safety and sanitation practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
• Familiarity with restaurant operations and point-of-sale systems.
