About the position

The Hostess/Service Assistant plays a crucial role in providing a welcoming atmosphere for guests at the restaurant. This part-time position involves greeting customers, managing reservations, and ensuring a clean and organized dining area. The individual will also handle customer complaints and maintain high standards of hygiene and service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Invite customers to the waiting area or bar if no tables are available, following establishment policies.
• Accompany customers to their tables.
• Provide menus and beverage lists to guests.
• Manage reservations and take customer names along with any special requirements.
• Inspect dining areas to ensure cleanliness and orderliness.
• Address customer complaints promptly in collaboration with the team.
• Ensure tables are set with traditional service items such as water, bread, salt, pepper, cutlery, and glassware.
• Know and comply with work procedures.
• Identify issues needing improvement and suggest innovative solutions.
• Take drink orders from newly arrived customers.
• Keep the reception area well organized.
• Use software to make and confirm customer reservations.
• Maintain personal hygiene standards, including frequent hand washing.
