About the position

The Hot Stamping Process Engineer is responsible for improving the efficiency of hot stamping equipment, coordinating support groups, and establishing processes and procedures to enhance operations. This role involves ensuring product quality and compliance with customer specifications, utilizing documented systems such as TS16949 and ISO14001. The engineer will also oversee tooling and process development, with the authority to halt non-conforming processes and report issues to relevant departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write cost analysis and proposals for integrating new and current Hot Stamping technology
• Coordinate with support groups to improve and repair current equipment
• Test the ability of machines (such as Robots) to perform tasks
• Develop operating procedures and resolve systems malfunctions
• Determine part supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedules for machines and equipment
• Develop alternative processing methods for continuous improvement of quality and manufacturing standards
• Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay updated on new developments
• Interface with co-workers in maintenance, quality, and manufacturing to improve technical information and support
• Develop timing plans and action plans to track manufacturing improvements
• Capable of developing 8D's by following root cause analysis
• Perform housekeeping and other assigned activities

Requirements

• 3 years of Hot Stamping process experience
• Inventory flow and JIT principles knowledge
• Automotive background preferred
• Availability to work overtime as required
• Experience with scheduling preferred; 2-5 years preferred

• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, WordPerfect and/or Microsoft Word)
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Firm understanding of Hot Stamping process
• Understanding of how decisions affect other departments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
