About the position

The Hotel Breakfast Cook is responsible for preparing food items for various dining services within the hotel, including the Cafe, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets. This role emphasizes maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen while ensuring efficient food preparation and presentation according to hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items based on standardized recipes for the Cafe, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Complete necessary food and station preparations prior to opening of the Cafe.
• Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards.
• Maintain post on kitchen line during operating hours to prepare food to order.
• Prepare food for Banquets as required following specifications of Banquet Event Orders.
• Prepare and service food for Associate Cafeteria as specified by the Food Production Manager.
• Breakdown buffets and kitchen line storing food and equipment properly at the end of each meal period.
• Know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.
• Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other associates.
• Assist in storage and rotation of food items according to hotel procedures.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Food Handlers Certification compliant with State requirements.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
