About the position

The Hotel Dishwasher at Hyatt House/Hyatt Place is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and proper storage of all china, glass, and silverware, ensuring the highest standards of sanitation. This role involves assisting kitchen staff in keeping the kitchen and storage areas clean, as well as managing food storage and rotation. The position is full-time, primarily during evening hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas.
• Preparing dining areas and kitchen for the next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations.
• Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen such as coffee makers, pots, pans, and mixers.
• Unloading and storing deliveries.
• Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event of spills or broken items.
• Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans.
• Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks as needed.
• Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures.
• Interacting with guests and/or colleagues, maintaining a high level of trust and responsibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hotel experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
