About the position

The Hotel Financial Controller at Senna House Hotel Scottsdale is responsible for managing all financial activities, ensuring effective controls, accurate reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role also includes oversight of accounting at The Leo Kent in Tucson, collaborating with their team to ensure financial alignment. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Property Accounting and works closely with the General Manager and Executive Committee to meet the hotel's financial objectives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the financial impact of all business decisions is properly addressed.
• Plan, direct and implement strategies for accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain sound internal control systems to protect company assets.
• Direct preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts; prepare reports summarizing hotel revenues, expenses, and earnings.
• Hire, train, evaluate, and counsel Accounting staff members.
• Arrange for audits of hotel accounts.
• Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Work cooperatively with fellow associates and promote a culture of guest service.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience leading hotel Accounting functions.
• Strong business communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.
• Ability to maintain calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hotel accounting software.
• Ability to lead departmental and hotel team meetings.
