About the position

The Hotel Front Desk Agent at McKibbon Hospitality serves as the first point of contact for guests, embodying the welcoming spirit of the property. This role requires a friendly and relatable personality, along with a strong desire to assist guests in a professional manner. The front desk agent is responsible for ensuring that guests' needs are met promptly and efficiently, contributing to a positive guest experience. In this position, you will be expected to anticipate guests' needs and respond to them in a timely manner, maintaining positive relations at all times. You will handle guest complaints and work diligently to ensure their satisfaction. A comprehensive knowledge of hotel features and services, including hours of operation, room rates, special packages, and daily activities, is essential. Your daily tasks will include processing guest check-ins, verifying registration information, managing overbooked situations, and recording wake-up call requests. You will also communicate important guest information to relevant departments and resolve any discrepancies in room status reports with housekeeping. Additionally, you will receive training in Food and Beverage operations to assist in those areas as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to all inquiries.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features/services, hours of operations, room rates, special packages, and promotions.
  • Process all guest check-ins and verify registration information with the guest.
  • Handle overbooked or 'walked' guests effectively.
  • Accept and record wake-up call requests from guests.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments/personnel.
  • Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with housekeeping.
  • Train with and learn Food and Beverage operations to fill in as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel management software.
