About the position

The Hotel General Manager at Kimpton Hotel Vintage Seattle is responsible for maximizing the financial performance of the hotel while ensuring the highest quality guest service. This role involves fostering a positive work environment for employees and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to achieve maximum occupancy and revenue. The General Manager collaborates with ownership, oversees various hotel departments, and ensures compliance with financial reporting and operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, monitor and participate in comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to maximize occupancy and average rates.
  • Work directly with the ownership group to strategize and implement projects for business growth.
  • Coordinate and assist with guest satisfaction and resolutions.
  • Maintain cross-relationships with the restaurant and/or spa to promote overall property success.
  • Protect and enhance the value of hotel assets through maintenance, security, and housekeeping programs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all period-end financial statements and reports.
  • Coordinate weekly forecasting and planning of staffing and cost expenditures to align with forecasted sales.
  • Review and approve all operating expenses.
  • Supervise and develop the performance of all operating departments including Reservations, Front Office, Guest Services, Housekeeping, Security, Maintenance, Sales and Marketing, Accounting, and People and Culture.
  • Conduct interviews, hiring, training, and performance appraisals of employees.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of upper-level management experience in hospitality.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to encourage, lead, and manage a team by example.
  • High level of creativity, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
  • Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both internally and externally.
  • Ability to convert vision into specific and tangible actions to benefit the property.
