About the position

The Hotel General Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Comfort Inn, ensuring high standards of service and financial performance. This role involves leading the managerial team and frontline staff, managing budgets, and maintaining compliance with regulations. The General Manager acts as a key communicator between guests, staff, and corporate officials, driving operational strategies to enhance revenue and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of hotel operations.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure compliance with financial document processing and accounting standards.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for hotel operations.
• Monitor and manage staff performance, providing training and motivation as needed.
• Manage budgets, financial plans, and resources effectively.
• Forecast the hotel's financial position and analyze data for accurate reforecasting.
• Address and resolve guest complaints effectively.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to drive revenue.
• Complete required corporate training modules and maintain certifications.
• Build strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers.
• Hire and develop qualified associates, promoting teamwork and cooperation.
• Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of progressive General Manager experience in a hotel.
• Strong hotel management experience or a 2-year college degree with 5 to 6 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in Windows operating systems and property management software.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with Choice Hotels brand preferred but not required.
