About the position

The General Manager at Spark by Hilton is responsible for overseeing the efficient and profitable operation of the hotel in Lansing, KS. This role involves managing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring compliance with company standards, and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction. The General Manager will lead a team, handle budgeting and financial planning, and engage in marketing efforts to promote the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all facets of the hotel to ensure efficient and profitable operation.
  • Ensure compliance with company/franchise standards for personnel administration and performance, service to patrons, and room rates.
  • Delegate authority and assign responsibility to all employees; supervise work activities of all employees.
  • Ensure staff receive proper training for each position, including safety training and standard operating procedures.
  • Allocate funds, authorize expenditures, and assist Area Director in budget planning.
  • Monitor cost controls on a regular basis.
  • Perform duties of a Sales and Marketing manager including making marketing calls and coordinating sales promotions.
  • Inspect guests' rooms, public access areas, and outside grounds for cleanliness and appearance.
  • Answer patrons' complaints and resolve problems to maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct annual wage scale surveys and ensure employee wages follow guidelines.
  • Ensure bank deposits are made daily, including weekends and holidays.
  • Complete and submit employee paperwork, work schedules, and payroll in a timely manner.
  • Audit daily reports and process monthly paperwork.
  • Order supplies and equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • Two years hotel General Manager experience.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's license required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hilton OnQ Experience preferred
  • Experience in hotel management and hospitality (1 year preferred).
