About the position

The General Manager at Shashi Group, LLC is responsible for overseeing the operations of the hotel, ensuring the highest level of service is provided to guests. This role involves leading the management team, coordinating departmental operations, and maintaining a positive public image for the hotel. The General Manager will also engage in business planning, financial forecasting, and community involvement to enhance the hotel's reputation and performance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the operation of each individual department and special projects, identifying problems and solutions.
• Lead, coach, and guide the Executive Committee and Management Team.
• Interview, hire, supervise, and counsel department managers in the efficient operation of their respective areas.
• Meet with, develop, and delegate improvement plans for operations and review performance of the management team.
• Interview, hire, train, and recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication, and approve discipline and terminations.
• Participate in community affairs and maintain a positive public image for Shashi Group and the hotel.
• Meet with potential and current clients and promote the hotel.
• Monthly forecasting of operating staff and cost expenditures.
• Business planning in line with forecasted sales and costs, including guidance to department heads.
• Monthly P&L review to keep costs and expenses in line.

Requirements

• Proven hospitality leader with the ability to build strong relationships.
• 5 years of experience in progressively more complex leadership roles.
• Previous hotel management experience required; Marriott experience preferred.
• Proficient with Google Docs, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate detailed quantitative data.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial calculations.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
