About the position

The General Manager at stayAPT Suites Auburn will oversee all aspects of property management, ensuring adherence to company policies, brand standards, and mission statements. This role focuses on enhancing service quality, maximizing financial performance, guest satisfaction, and staff development. The General Manager will lead the team, promote sales activities, and maintain operational efficiency to achieve profitability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the hotel/motel.
• Lead all onsite team members including assistant manager, front desk associates, and housekeepers, promoting a healthy team culture.
• Ensure all guest rooms, common areas, and hotel grounds meet standards of cleanliness, upkeep, and function.
• Troubleshoot problems as they arise with a proactive attitude and mindset.
• Work with the Regional Sales Director to create and execute sales strategies and marketing plans.

Requirements

• 2 - 5 years as General Manager or in another hotel management role.
• Experience with IHG Brand preferred.
• Ability to hire, develop, and build a team.
• Strong guest relations skills.
• Understanding of profitability and cost control.
• Knowledge of various computer software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
• Ability to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
