About the position

Hampton Inn Springfield, TN is seeking a dedicated Hotel Maintenance Technician/Handyman for its 60-room hotel located in Springfield, TN. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms and exterior grounds, in accordance with the Hampton Preventative Maintenance program. The technician will be responsible for turning around work orders in a timely manner, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The role involves testing and maintaining the water content of the swimming pool to meet Hampton standards and state requirements. The technician will also perform general repairs to furniture in the guestrooms, with hands-on training provided. Maintaining a clean environment is crucial, as is ensuring the outside curb appeal of the hotel, which includes the parking lot, landscaping, and other outdoor areas. The technician will rotate mattresses quarterly and maintain guestroom televisions, electronic locks, and refrigerators, also through hands-on training. Light plumbing repairs, such as those involving toilets, tubs, and sinks in all guestrooms, will be part of the job responsibilities. The technician will assist in the Quality Assurance program to ensure that the property is clean and well-maintained. Additionally, the technician will maintain and test life safety systems in accordance with Hampton brand standards. Professionalism is key in this role, as the technician must always be in uniform and maintain a clean environment. Being a team player is essential, as the technician will assist with any other duties required by the General Manager to enhance the overall operation of the hotel and better serve guests.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain upkeep in all guestrooms through Hampton Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Maintain upkeep of exterior grounds.
  • Turn around work orders in a timely manner.
  • Test and maintain water content of swimming pool per Hampton standards and state requirements.
  • Perform general repairs to furniture in the guestrooms with hands-on training.
  • Maintain a clean environment at all times.
  • Maintain outside curb appeal including parking lot, landscaping, and outside grounds.
  • Rotate mattresses quarterly.

Requirements

  • Hotel Maintenance/Custodial experience from a previous hotel.
  • Great people skills in dealing with both staff and guests.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Valid state issued driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and weekends.

Nice-to-haves
