About the position

The Hotel Maintenance position at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Painesville - Concord is a full-time role focused on overseeing the maintenance of the property, including grounds, building facilities, and guest rooms. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the best possible lodging experience for guests. This includes daily cleaning and upkeep, preventive maintenance, and small repairs, as well as communicating larger maintenance needs to the General Manager. The role requires adherence to the hotel's operating guidelines and grooming standards, including wearing a provided maintenance uniform and nametag at all times while on property. In this position, you will be responsible for completing tasks outlined in the daily Maintenance Checklist and responding to maintenance emergencies on a 24-hour call basis. You will also practice safe working conditions in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines, including safe chemical handling as prescribed in Material Safety and Data Sheets. The role involves various duties such as clearing trash, cleaning common areas, performing preventive maintenance on guest rooms, and ensuring that the maintenance workshop and storerooms are clean and organized. The maintenance tasks include painting walls, ensuring the functionality of electrical circuits, plumbing, HVAC systems, and maintaining guest laundry facilities. The ideal candidate will possess general knowledge of heating, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing skills, along with the ability to use basic work tools and equipment. A strong work ethic and the ability to work well under limited supervision are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee property maintenance of grounds, building facilities, and guest rooms.
  • Ensure the best possible lodging experience for each guest within the hotel's operating guidelines.
  • Complete tasks and assignments on the daily Maintenance Checklist.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies timely, on a 24-hour call basis.
  • Practice safe working conditions under OSHA guidelines.
  • Clear trash and empty property trash containers daily.
  • Sweep and clean sidewalks and stairs as needed.
  • Paint walls, ceilings, doors, and window trim as needed.
  • Provide preventive maintenance to a minimum of 2 rooms each day.
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance workshop and storerooms.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of heating, air conditioning, electric, and plumbing skills.
  • Ability to use basic work tools and equipment.
  • Ability to patch holes, clean carpets, and paint walls.
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision.
  • Strong work ethic.
