About the position

The Hotel Night Auditor at Courtyard by Marriott is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to hotel guests during the night shift. This role includes managing guest check-ins and check-outs, performing nightly audits of hotel accounts, and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of guests. The Night Auditor acts as the hotel manager on duty, overseeing operations and addressing any guest concerns or requests in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register guests, issue room keys, and assign rooms in a friendly manner.
  • Act as hotel manager on duty, following prescribed procedures for communication and guest satisfaction.
  • Enter daily changes and balance accounts such as guest and house accounts.
  • Complete night audit procedures accurately and timely, ensuring all information is posted correctly.
  • Print night audit reports according to guidelines.
  • Ensure guest safety by following established security procedures.
  • Sort and manage incoming mail, faxes, and messages.
  • Record and communicate guest special requests and problems to appropriate departments.
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services and local attractions, providing travel directions.
  • Check out guests accurately and communicate departures to housekeeping staff.
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and handle cash according to procedures.
  • Make, confirm, and cancel reservations via various methods.
  • Answer and route phone calls in a friendly manner.
  • Post charges to guest ledgers accurately.
  • Deposit guests' valuables in the hotel safe.
  • Maintain shift-to-shift log for proper communication between shifts.
  • Keep the hotel lobby and front desk area clean and organized.
  • Wash, fold, and store laundry as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in hotel front desk operations or customer service preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and billing.

  • Experience with hotel management software.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and services.
