About the position

The primary responsibility of the dishwasher at Hotel Oregon is to ensure that all dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, glassware, pitchers, cups, and any other dishware are cleaned and put away in designated areas. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen environment. The dishwasher will wash all items thoroughly, prioritize duties based on restaurant needs and manager communication, and close down the workspace at the end of the shift. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area is essential, and the dishwasher will also be responsible for waste disposal, including taking out the garbage and recycling appropriate materials. Being a dishwasher can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. The role necessitates working well both independently and as part of a team. Each employee is expected to perform their job safely and report any safety concerns to management. Additionally, all McMenamin employees are expected to stay informed about company events, history, and products. Other duties may be assigned by the manager on duty as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, glassware, pitchers, cups, and any other dishware.
  • Put items away in designated areas.

  • Close down the workspace at the end of the shift.

  • Organize and clean the work area.

  • Perform additional cleaning and maintenance projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Obtain and maintain a current food handlers card.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
