About the position

The National Sales Manager at Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa is a pivotal role responsible for driving sales and maximizing revenue for the hotel. This Tuscan-inspired resort features 349 rooms and 100,000 square feet of function space, making it an ideal venue for group events. The National Sales Manager will focus on specific group markets that require between 20 to 300 peak room nights, ensuring that each business opportunity is effectively sold to enhance customer loyalty and revenue generation. The role involves processing business correspondence, creating contracts, and managing booking documentation to ensure a seamless sales process. In this position, the National Sales Manager will utilize excellent selling and prospecting skills, alongside strong communication abilities, to engage with potential clients. A deep understanding of property operations, food and beverage services, and event planning is essential. The incumbent will also be responsible for timely responses to incoming group opportunities and will work collaboratively with other sales channels to ensure that sales efforts are coordinated and effective. Understanding the competitive landscape, including strengths, weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand, is crucial for success in this role. Travel is a requirement for this position, as the National Sales Manager will need to meet with prospective clients, attend training sessions, and participate in trade shows. The role may also involve representing the hotel at various functions as directed by the Director of Sales and Marketing or the General Manager. The ideal candidate must be prepared to work hard, enjoy public interaction, and be flexible with their schedule, including evenings and weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and maximize revenue for specific group markets with 20 to 300 peak room nights.
  • Process business correspondence and create contracts and booking documentation.
  • Respond in a timely manner to incoming group opportunities within pre-defined parameters.
  • Collaborate with other sales channels to ensure coordinated sales efforts.
  • Understand competition's strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, and supply and demand.
  • Travel to assigned markets to meet prospective clients and attend trainings and trade shows.
  • Represent the hotel at functions as determined by the Director of Sales and Marketing or General Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years hotel sales experience in Las Vegas or resort destinations.
  • Experience in group and transient market segments.
  • Strong selling and prospecting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic math and calculator skills for preparing cost proposals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Considerable skill in using a Windows-based environment and software including Microsoft Windows 2000, PMS, and Delphi.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous structured hotel/resort sales training course.
