About the position

The Hotel Revenue Analyst is integral to the success of the Hotel's Revenue Management team. The position will be responsible for the preparation of revenue reports that will assist the Director of Revenue Management in implementing the hotel's yield strategies. The Revenue Analyst must be strategic and decisive, combining knowledge in sales, marketing and distribution channels to offer support to the DORM in making the optimal revenue decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly revenue reports.
  • Create and maintain a 45 day rolling demand calendar daily.
  • Assist with preparing weekly dynamic forecast of expected results, variances and budget comparisons.
  • Assist in managing and overseeing strategy for all 3rd party distribution channels.
  • Ensure all related systems are configured correctly, validated and working to full capacity.
  • Ensure web site booking process is maintained up-to-date and functional.
  • Work in liaison with hotel sales, front desk, and reservations departments as a team.
  • Assist with ensuring all rates are loaded and inventory maintenance is correct.
  • Communicate strategies and procedures to other departments as required.
  • Maintain group pick-up reports and communicate with Sales regarding upcoming groups cut-offs.
  • Participate in weekly revenue management meetings.
  • Monitor and analyze the competition daily / weekly through shop reports and the Internet to identify selling strategies and market trends.
  • Assist with reconciling third party/travel agent invoices.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • College degree in hospitality or business administration or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years in experience in Revenue Management position preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills required and ability to apply those skills to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve goals.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-tasked and fast-paced environment.
  • Excel experience required.
  • Ability to work extra and irregular hours.
