About the position

The Hotel Sales Manager at Embassy Suites is responsible for driving sales and building relationships with local and national companies. This role involves prospecting new accounts, responding to customer inquiries, and maintaining professional sales communications. The position requires a thorough understanding of hotel operations and sales methodologies, with a focus on achieving sales targets and contributing to the overall success of the hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a minimum of 25 prospecting calls to new accounts weekly and build new relationships with local & national companies.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all requests for information from potential customers.
  • Complete sales reports/funnel by close of business Thursday.
  • Operate and maintain the office in a professional manner, maintaining a professional appearance through proper grooming, dress, and attitude.
  • Understand and utilize all company sales tools and methodology in all client negotiations in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of Heart of America's guest service standards, meeting and F&B capabilities and sell them efficiently.
  • Utilize provided software to create and maintain professional, accurate sales communications, contracts, BEO's, and records.
  • Participate in all sales efforts including trade shows, off-site calls, telemarketing, and mailings.
  • Understand and execute HOA accident prevention, hotel security, personnel, emergency, and key control policies at all times.
  • Accurately and timely complete all assigned tasks and duties as directed by the Director of Sales and Chief Operating Executive.
  • Attend weekly hotel executive staff meetings and contribute information on existing and future events.
  • Effectively coordinate and communicate with all departments to ensure courteous, accurate, efficient delivery of services.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required to maximize sales opportunities through tradeshows and networking events.

Requirements

  • 1 year of hotel sales experience is required.
  • 1 year of hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Ability to relocate to Olathe, KS before starting work is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous Hilton experience is preferred.
  • An outgoing personality and a desire to win and succeed are a must.
