About the position

The Administrative Assistant position at Cobb and Douglas Public Health is designed to support various HR functions under supervision. The role involves assisting with day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and managing internship and volunteer programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HR best practices and excellent communication skills, thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while promoting the health and safety of the community.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new employee onboarding activities, including orientation sessions and the completion of necessary paperwork.
  • Assist with training initiatives to enhance employee skills and knowledge, aligned with organizational goals.
  • Co-facilitate training sessions on HR-related topics and other relevant areas.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of human resource experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of state personnel disciplines, classification, compensation benefits, etc.
  • Knowledge of state personnel rules and regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to use human resource-specific computer software (PeopleSoft, MUNIS, Workday)
