About the position

The Door Shop Hourly position at 84 Lumber Company involves assisting Door Shop Assemblers in the daily operations of manufacturing doors. This role includes assembling doors, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and operating various tools and equipment necessary for door assembly.

Responsibilities

• Assist Door Shop Assemblers in daily operations of manufacturing doors.
• Work on a Door pre-hanging assembly line and perform routine maintenance of equipment.
• Use power saws, air nail guns, staples, and other tools to prep wood material for door assembly.
• Safely operate a forklift to move material to the appropriate area of the shop.
• Pick and pull production material as needed.
• Load, unload, store, and package material as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and observe all posted safety rules.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to others one-on-one.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations.
