About the position

The House Attendant (HA) at Sonesta Austin-Bee Cave plays a crucial role in supporting the Housekeeping Management Team by assisting Room Attendants with various tasks. This position involves collecting and transporting dirty linens, delivering clean linens, and maintaining cleanliness in public areas and assigned floors. The House Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction through timely responses to requests and maintaining the organization of housekeeping supplies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Work with Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens.
• Deliver linens and other supplies to Room Attendants.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors, including removing trash and cleaning surfaces.
• Respond to guests' requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Clean designated areas such as public restrooms and storage rooms.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Respond to special requests and guest complaints to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of housekeeping.
• Deliver lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects when assigned.
• Monitor laundry supplies and equipment when assigned to laundry duties.
• Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers' guidelines.
• Inspect soiled linens for damage or stains and report damages to the supervisor.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and departmental management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Willingness to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
