About the position

The House Lead, Weekend Direct Support Professional (DSP) at LGFHomes plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This position involves overseeing the operations of assigned personnel, ensuring the delivery of personalized care, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for clients. The House Lead will assist in daily activities, promote independence, and enhance the quality of life for clients while also managing staff schedules and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation of medication administration.
  • Provide support in meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
  • Help clients with mobility assistance, including lifting and transferring as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the living environment to promote health and safety.
  • Implement individualized care plans and monitor client progress towards goals.
  • Engage clients in social activities and community integration to enhance their social skills.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Document daily activities, observations, and any changes in client behavior or condition.
  • Oversee the operations of assigned personnel and ensure adherence to personnel policies.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and manage time off requests to avoid overtime.
  • Attend client meetings and provide input on care plans and activities.

Requirements

  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential.
  • Familiarity with personal care home systems and practices is a plus.
  • Ability to lift clients safely and assist with mobility needs.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping others achieve their goals.
  • Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
