About the position

The House Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of a residential care facility, ensuring a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents. This position requires a compassionate individual dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care, coordinating staff activities, managing resident needs, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of the home, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring that all health-related information is documented accurately.
  • Provide direct support to residents with varying needs in a long-term care or group home setting.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility to promote a healthy living environment.
  • Coordinate activities and programs that enhance residents' social engagement and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to address concerns and provide updates on resident health and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to home community care and personal care homes.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a long-term care setting, group home, or nursing home preferred.
  • Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and basic health care practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on cleanliness and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
  • Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with residents.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation and dietary needs for individuals in care settings is advantageous.
  • Certification or training in direct support or related fields is a plus.
