About the position

The Housekeeper at Springhill Suites Columbia is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold the hotel's standards. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, and restocking supplies, while providing warm and knowledgeable service to guests. The position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to create a welcoming environment for all guests.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas to meet established cleanliness standards.
• Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, setting up and maintaining cleaning carts.
• Cleans windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms and public areas.
• Washes shower walls and tubs, cleans toilets, and maintains sanitary restrooms.
• Replaces towels, soaps, and room amenities, ensuring adequate supplies for guests.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
• Strips beds of linen and remakes with fresh linens, checking for cleanliness.
• Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways, moving heavy furniture as needed.
• Inspects room equipment and reports maintenance deficiencies to management.
• Maintains a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks throughout an 8-hour shift.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and staff.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or Wyndham cleaning standards.
