About the position
The Housekeeper position at Bayberry Commons is primarily responsible for performing day-to-day cleaning activities within the Environmental Services Department. The role ensures that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner, adhering to federal, state, and local standards. The housekeeper may also handle materials identified as infectious and is accountable for carrying out assigned duties effectively.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
- Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area.
- Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDSs) when necessary.
- Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.

- Personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
