About the position
Riddle Village, a lifecare retirement community, is seeking a housekeeper for our Environmental Services Department. This position is full-time and requires working every other weekend rotation. Responsibilities
- Clean and service apartments, baths, and offices.
- Clean, mop, sweep floors, dust, and damp wipe window sills.
- Empty wastebaskets.
- Scour and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar equipment.
- Dust furniture and equipment.
- Clean and polish chrome glass panels in doors and partitions.
- Spot clean walls.
- Dust baseboards.
- Arrange furniture in public areas in an orderly fashion.
- Replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc).
- Disinfect toilets with proper germicidal.
- Keep housekeeping closets and storage closets in good order by cleaning areas and arranging supplies and equipment.
- Sweep and wet mop floors.
- Responsible for cleanliness and servicing of the assigned area, care of cleaning equipment by following the Housekeeping Department's cleaning procedures, efficient expenditures of soaps, waxes, polishes, and similar supplies, and neat personal appearance.
- Perform various related housekeeping duties as assigned by management or as may be required to meet emergencies or other specific situations.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have the ability to work with and cooperate well with other employees.
- Must know how to use common housecleaning devices such as vacuums, mops, waxes, polishes, scouring pads and dusting techniques to keep the assigned area clean and well serviced.
- Must be able to stand, walk in limited area, climb stairs, turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull and handle cleaning, dusting and scrubbing.
- Must be able to carry equipment, regularly lifting up to 44 pounds.
- Must be able to demonstrate exemplary customer service skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate sound communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to speak the English language, and follow oral and written directions in this language.
- Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have at least 1-year professional experience in a housekeeping role.
- Must be able to work every other weekend.
