About the position

As a Housekeeper at Mason Wright Senior Living, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the senior living community. This full-time position requires you to perform various housekeeping tasks, including cleaning common areas and residents' apartments, following a structured cleaning schedule, and ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform housekeeping and cleaning activities within assigned common areas and residents' apartments.
  • Follow a cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined by the housekeeping department.
  • Clean floors using dry mop, wet mop, sweep, wax, buff, and disinfect as necessary.
  • Perform emergency housekeeping tasks when accidents occur.
  • Dust, spot clean, wash, disinfect, and polish movable and stationary furnishings and fixtures.
  • Inspect furnishings for wear and defects and report to the Maintenance Director.
  • Clean and replenish bathroom supplies in resident bathrooms.
  • Disinfect all fixtures, floors, windows, doors, ceilings, mirrors, and walls as directed.
  • Perform terminal cleaning duties in resident apartments when a resident has been discharged or transferred.
  • Remove waste, dispose of trash, and reline wastebaskets.
  • Send soiled linens to laundry and launder as scheduled.
  • Report observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain equipment used in performing housekeeping duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a housekeeper in a work setting.
  • Ability to follow oral directions and perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Pleasant, tactful, and courteous demeanor.
  • Efficient in the use of supplies and care of equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
  • Completion of Dementia In-Service training.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
