About the position

The Housekeeper position at Samaritan Albany General Hospital is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing hospital and clinic areas to maintain a safe and orderly environment. This role involves moving furniture and equipment, ensuring that all areas meet established cleanliness standards, and supporting the overall health care mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize hospital and clinic building areas according to established policies and procedures.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies in and around hospital departments and buildings.
• Maintain a professional, clean, safe, and sanitary environment in support of the health care mission.
• Perform cleaning and floor/carpet care, custodial services, linen distribution, and waste removal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care setting, or medical office preferred.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and implement solutions.
• Time management skills to organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Knowledge of confidentiality laws (HIPAA) and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
