The position at Heritage Inn of Barnesville involves performing essential housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. Responsibilities

  • Sweep, damp mop, and wet mop tile floors.
  • Occasionally spray buff, strip or wax floors following center procedures.
  • Report to supervisor any carpeted areas that need cleaning or spot removal.
  • Vacuum carpeted rooms as applicable.
  • Dust/damp clean surfaces in patient rooms, including furniture and windowsills.
  • Empty trash cans, clean exterior and interior, and replace can liners.
  • Clean bathroom sinks, fixtures, and toilets following center procedures.
  • Clean glass surfaces such as mirrors and windows.
  • Clean behind and underneath furnishings, moving furniture as necessary.
  • Turn bed mattresses after cleaning.
  • Clean dining area after meals, including wiping tables and mopping floors.
  • Change soiled privacy curtains and draperies as needed.
  • Sweep outside porches and walkways, picking up trash.
  • Follow cleaning schedules set by the supervisor.
  • Adhere to infection control standards while cleaning.
  • Use isolation techniques as needed.
  • Recognize patient rights while cleaning patient rooms.
  • Safeguard chemicals used and follow MSDS precautions.
  • Assist in the proper care and use of housekeeping equipment and supplies.
  • Inspect equipment prior to use and report any repairs needed.
  • Maintain adequate supplies in bathrooms throughout the center.
  • Prevent/remove wax/dirt build-up in corners and doorways.
  • Promote the image and reputation of the System through servant leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with associates, patients, and visitors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
